I was like half way to being delirious during this weeks fhjy ep cuz reasons but god british kristen and dm zac was crazy. Also yes if/when the rat grinders die i will cry bc i love them and they didnt deserve what they got and yes i will cheer when porter (hopefully) gets fuckin destroyed bc even if i find him interesting as a villain/antagonist hes a shitty teacher and that makes me upset.

Other thoughts on the ep are just gorgug and kristen being death buddies bc yknow. And gorgug as whole, but thats just the norm for me.

well its not like i can Assign you a label, bc identities dont work like that. you can use just lesbian, if you want, since it being an umbrella label doesnt mean it cant also apply to your identity. thats the great things about identities though, that you can choose your labeling or even go unlabeled and just live youre life, theyre not prescriptive.

i finally played rain's embrace, it brought back some unpleasant memories for me but more importantly i thought it was really interesting how it shows that caleb has never really changed, we were just limited by our unreliable narrator and perspective on him as the mc.

first of all, the backstory about bb caleb locking up bb mc in the attic because he was worried about her being in danger. i think he showed a realistic childishness in how thoughtless that was and how he easily got distracted into leaving her behind, but it can also be seen as a mirror of adult caleb, who was fully ready to lock her up despite her protests and how angry she was, and only gave up when she became too upset. he's ok about her being scared or angry, but he usually gives in when she becomes upset.

the story is a flashback of when mc was in college before joining the HA, i think? and i think it's really interesting how this caleb actually isn't that different from current caleb, but he's a little less tough and more vulnerable.

no matter how far he goes, he always falls back to being pitiful and brotherly, and i think thats why mc had such a rosy view of him. it's like, if your mom hits you but she's sweet and doting the rest of the time, you'll never think you're being abused, but if she stops being so affectionate but keeps the same frequency of hitting, you think you're "suddenly" being physically abused. caleb "stopped pretending", he stopped having that limit and no longer immediately tried to make it up to mc whenever he made mc upset, so now mc thinks he changed when she's just seeing how he's always been.

then at the end- "i promise i'll never lock you up again", "i'll take you to skyhaven next time", i got really mad then i got really sad. caleb when i get my hands on you-

anyway, i love everything the writers have been doing with caleb. i feel like they really put effort and planning into his implementation and it's not just a rush job or fan service. i worried at first that they would make him super edgy in the story, then dial back and make him harmless in the extra stuff, but no, they're actually committing to his character type.
